This is especially beneficial for those who may need to get tested before something important, such as travel, and have minimal time to get a more extensive test done.

Fast results are also advantageous for people who live with someone in a vulnerable group, such as the elderly, pregnant women, or immunocompromised individuals.

Note: If you need to be tested for travel before getting on a plane, ensure you get your test completed no more than three days before you travel and check with your travel destination for specific requirements

It depends on your circumstances. If you are showing symptoms, an antigen test can quickly determine if you have the virus and need to self-quarantine. If you have been in contact with someone who had COVID-19 but are not showing symptoms, the PCR test may be the better choice due to its higher accuracy.

Ultimately, we recommend that you consult with your doctor about which test is right for you.

RT-PCR test. Also called a molecular test, this COVID-19 test detects genetic material of the virus using a lab technique called reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). These tests can detect influenza viral RNA or nucleic acids in respiratory specimens with high sensitivity and high specificity. Molecular covid test are an ideal option for anyone who needs accurate results quickly, such as someone who needs same-day results for travel or if you’re experiencing Covid-19 symptoms and want to know right away whether you’re infected or not..

A molecular test looks for genetic material from the virus. The test uses sophisticated chemicals and equipment to reproduce millions to billions of copies of viral-related DNA from even the smallest sample. Because of that, the test is considered highly sensitive, leading to very few false negatives. They work by detecting specific genetic materials belonging to the virus. PCR tests look for the material that is found inside the virus on a molecular level, rather than looking for the proteins that are found on the virus’ surface, as antigen tests do.

COVID-19 antigen tests are very accurate when they return positive results. However, this test does have a higher rate of returning false negatives than the PCR nasal swab test.

One of our licensed clinicians will perform the nasal swab test and collect a sample for analysis.

A fluid sample is collected by inserting a long nasal swab (nasopharyngeal swab) into your nostril and taking fluid from the back of your nose or by using a shorter nasal swab (mid-turbinate swab) or a very short swab (anterior nares swab) to get a sample. In some cases, a long swab is inserted into the back of your throat (oropharyngeal swab), or you may spit into a tube to produce a saliva sample.

The nasal swab test is performed to detect a current active infection of SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19).

The CDC no longer recommends the deep nasopharyngeal swab for diagnosis. As such, we use the shorter anterior nasal swabs.

Our tests are approved under the FDA Emergency Use Authorization program.

Most often results are available in 1-2 hours, but no later than end of business day.

Countries around the world are imposing various Covid-19 travel restrictions, so anyone traveling should know whether they need a Covid test for travel to meet set requirements. Whether traveling domestically or internationally, most countries will decline entry if these requirements aren’t met. The best way to ensure you meet destination Covid-19 test requirements is to know which Covid test for travel is needed and get tested before you travel.

The test collection and our processing is not covered by insurance.

The most important thing you can do if you suspect that you have Covid is to get a Covid-19 test. If the test results confirm the infection, stay calm and monitor your symptoms while following CDC guidelines on self-isolation and self-care.
